CATEGORIES: Department News

Matthew Wynn Sivils had a new book published in December. His work on the edition involved re-discovering this influential work by an early American woman writer whose fiction had an impact on such other notable figures as Emily Dickinson. He is a Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Professor at Iowa State University, where he teaches courses on nineteenth-century American literature and the environmental humanities. He has authored or edited nine books, most recently a critical edition of Harriet Prescott Spofford’s 1859 novel, Sir Rohan’s Ghost (2020) and an edited collection entitled, Ecogothic in Nineteenth-Century American Literature (co-edited with Dawn Keetley, 2017).
