Giles Fowler posthumously awarded ISUAA 2021 Faculty/Staff Inspiration Award

The late Giles Fowler, associate professor emeritus of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, has been posthumously named a recipient of 2021 Faculty/Staff Inspiration Award by the Iowa State University Alumni Association. Novotny Lawrence to present LAS Dean’s Lecture Nov. 5

Associate Professor Novotny Lawrence will present the Fall 2020 Dean’s Lecture on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. online. The lecture, “White Mansions, Black Bodies: Jordan Peele’s 'Get Out' and the New Age Slave Plantation,” will discuss the horror thriller, demonstrating the ways in which the director employs traditional filmmaking storytelling tropes to examine contemporary racial politics.
