William (Bill) Haigh grew up in eastern Iowa in the Quad Cities. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1979 with a double major in political science and history. Bill then taught high school social studies and coached high school sports at three small high schools in Iowa. After teaching, Bill worked for the Iowa Senate for twelve years, and was intimately involved in education funding and education and tax legislation in Iowa from 1986-1997. While working for the Iowa Senate, he earned a Masters in Public Administration at ISU. In 1997, he and his wife Nancy started their own business before Bill was asked to return to state government service as the legislative liaison and public information officer for the State Information Technology Department under Governor Vilsack. Since 2001, Bill has worked as a financial advisor, helping people prepare for retirement through proper planning and the use of the various financial vehicles available to middle income families. Living in West Des Moines, Bill and his wife Nancy assisted educators in over half of the school districts in Iowa. In July 2010, Bill and Nancy moved to Fairmont, MN where they continue to assist educators and their families in southwest Minnesota and northern Iowa along with their existing clients in Iowa.
