In his own words: I got my first job in television at KIMT-TV in Mason City, starting the day after graduation. I worked as an anchor and reporter there before moving to KWWL in Waterloo for four years. Then I went to WCMH in Columbus, OH as a weekend anchor/reporter. After enduring the coldest winter on record (at least at the time) in Columbus, my wife and I decided that was the time to seek out a warmer climate. We went to Bakersfield, California and spent six years there, where I went from a cross managerial/on-air role to eventually become news director at KBAK. I then went to KFSN in Fresno, California, first as executive producer, before becoming News Director for five years. Then, it was off to Orlando, Florida, to work for WFTV, and then back to California, and I have been at KGTV ever since.
