Dr. Angela Powers

Bio

Angela Powers is the 16th director of the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. She is a specialist in media management and leadership in newsrooms and the changing media landscape. Her most recent work focuses on the organizational ecology of family-owned news media and the role of communication infrastructure and information technologies in organizational change and transformation. Her research has appeared in books such as Leadership in the Media Industry and journals such as Journal of Media Economics, JMCQ, and Newspaper Research Journal. She was a research fellow at the Jönköping International Business School of Sweden. As a Senior Fulbright Specialist Powers facilitated the first master's program in communication at Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania.
