Bio

Joel Davis Dickman is the Vice President and General Manager at KGTV/ABC 10 in San Diego. He is responsible for the operations of San Diego’s ABC affiliated TV station, the Me TV affiliate for San Diego, and the associated digital properties of ABC 10News, including the most liked media Facebook page in San Diego. Joel came to the GM position by way of news. A native of Waverly and a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communication, he first worked as an anchor and reporter in various markets including Mason City and Waterloo/Cedar Rapids, before going into management roles in Fresno, CA and Orlando, FL. He came to San Diego in January, 2009 to serve as news director at KGTV. He was promoted to Station Manager in 2014 and to GM in 2016. KGTV is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company. Joel lives in Rancho Bernardo with his wife, Sarah Lutz, who is a veterinarian and alum of the ISU vet school. They have two college aged children.
