The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University has named Rick Phillips the recipient of its 2020 James W. Schwartz Award. The annual award recognizes distinguished service to journalism and communication and is the highest honor conferred by the school.
Jay Newell, Greenlee professor and associate director, is the 2020 recipient of the Greenlee School’s Allen Essman Faculty Fellowship recognizing excellence in advertising and/or public relations education. It was made possible by Iowa State alumna Denise Essman (’73 marketing) in memory of her late husband, Allen K. Essman, an alumnus, distinguished advertising professional and former instructor.
