In 2022, over 75% of Greenlee internships were paid. Historically, more than half of Greenlee students find paid internship opportunities. The Greenlee School strongly encourages all employers to offer paid internships.
Greenlee 499A Internship Scholarships
To help offset the cost of completing an internship, the Greenlee School awards a number of internship scholarships in the spring to Greenlee majors who are enrolled in summer 499A internships.
To meet the criteria for 499A scholarships, Iowa State students must be enrolled full-time with a primary major in advertising, journalism and mass communication or public relations for the semester in which the scholarship is issued. Students are considered full-time during the semester for which they are enrolled in ADVRT, JL MC or P R 499A: Professional Media Internship. Learn more about 499A scholarships and deadlines.
LAS Support for Unpaid Internships
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences awards a limited number of scholarships each semester to support undergraduate students completing unpaid internships. The scholarships are one-time awards. Students working at non-profit and government organizations off-campus will receive priority consideration. Learn more about LAS unpaid internship scholarships and deadlines.
